1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:
- "Jam Seri", "we", "us" — refers to the watch repair workshop at 45, Jalan Wong Ah Fook, 80000 Johor Bahru, Johor, Malaysia.
- "Customer", "you" — refers to the individual who enquires about or engages our repair services.
- "Service" — refers to any watch repair service offered by Jam Seri, including Simple Service, Heritage Overhaul, and Crystal Renewal.
- "Watch" — refers to the timepiece left in our care for assessment or repair.
- "Agreement" — refers to the arrangement formed when you accept our assessment and confirm that work may proceed.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By using this website, submitting an enquiry, or leaving a watch in our care, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age, or have the permission of a guardian.
- You have the legal right to authorise the repair of the watch in question.
- You have read and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
Continued use of the website or submission of an enquiry constitutes acceptance of these terms.
3. Service Description
Jam Seri provides watch repair services at our workshop in Johor Bahru. Our services include:
- Simple Service — battery and seal renewal, soft clean, water-resistance check where appropriate. Starting from RM 135.
- Heritage Overhaul — complete mechanical service, cleaning, lubrication, and regulation. Starting from RM 630.
- Crystal Renewal — crystal replacement or repolishing with case protection. Starting from RM 340.
All services are carried out at our physical premises. We do not offer a postal repair service. Services are available to customers in Malaysia during our published opening hours.
4. Assessment and Work Authorisation
Before any repair work begins, we will prepare a written condition note describing the watch's state and our proposed service. You will be asked to confirm agreement before we proceed.
If additional issues are discovered during the course of work, we will contact you before proceeding beyond the agreed scope. No additional charges will be incurred without your prior approval.
You may decline to proceed at the assessment stage at no cost. We reserve the right to decline any repair request at our discretion, particularly where we believe the work is outside our competence.
5. Pricing and Payment
Prices listed on our website are starting prices in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). The final cost will be confirmed after assessment and agreed with you before work begins. Prices may vary based on parts required, condition of the watch, or complexity of the movement.
Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch. We accept cash and standard payment methods available at the workshop. We do not process payments online through this website.
If a watch is left uncollected for more than 60 days following notification that work is complete, Jam Seri reserves the right to charge a reasonable storage fee.
6. Customer Responsibilities
When leaving a watch in our care, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information about the watch and its history where known.
- Collect the watch within a reasonable period following notification of completion.
- Ensure you have the right to authorise repair of the watch.
- Provide valid contact details for updates during the service.
We are not responsible for any pre-existing condition not recorded in the condition note at the time of drop-off.
7. Intellectual Property
The content on this website, including text, layout, and images, is the property of Jam Seri or used with appropriate permission. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any content from this website without prior written consent.
8. Disclaimers
Watch repair involves inherent risks, particularly with older or previously damaged timepieces. We carry out all work with reasonable care and skill. However, we cannot accept responsibility for:
- Pre-existing damage not identified at assessment.
- Failure of aged components not directly related to the service carried out.
- Variations in timekeeping outside of what is achievable for a particular movement's age and condition.
We will discuss any significant risks specific to your watch before work commences.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted under Malaysian law, Jam Seri's liability to you in respect of any loss or damage arising out of or in connection with services provided shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific service in question.
We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of sentimental value.
10. Termination
Either party may withdraw from the agreement before work has commenced without penalty. Once work has begun, reasonable costs incurred may be charged. We reserve the right to refuse service at our discretion.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. Any disputes arising from these terms or our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, specifically within the state of Johor where applicable.
We encourage customers to contact us directly in the first instance to resolve any concern. We will make reasonable efforts to address complaints fairly and promptly.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of our services after changes have been posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
